Toyota Kirloskar Motor is all set to launch the next-generation Toyota Camry sedan in the Indian market on December 11, 2024. The new Camry in its 9th generation gets a new design, fresh interior, additional features, safety, and more and will be offered only with a sole petrol hybrid engine option. The new Camry will be brought to India via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and is expected to be priced from Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom) and the deliveries will begin in 2025.

New Toyota Camry front design

The next-generation Camry will replace the outgoing sedan which has been on sale in India since 2019 and received a mid-life update in 2022. The new Camry will be based on the same TNGA-K platform which is used in multiple Toyota and Lexus cars such as Alphard, Sienna, Venza, Lexus ES, Lexus RX, and more. In terms of design, the Camry is based on Toyota’s global design language and is an evolution of the outgoing model. At the front, it gets a new headlamp design integrated with a black element that spans the front of the vehicle.

New Toyota Camry rear design

The sedan also features a honeycomb-patterned grille, painted to match the body color, extending toward the lower section of the car. While the overall silhouette remains similar to the previous model, the roofline appears more sloped, and the rear quarter glass is larger and more angled. At the rear, the changes are minimal with redesigned tail lamps and rear bumper. The 2025 Toyota Camry retains similar dimensions to its predecessor, measuring 4,915 mm in length, 1,839 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. In comparison, the outgoing model is slightly shorter at 4,885 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, with the same wheelbase.

Moving inside, the interior is all new and again it follows Toyota’s global design language with a new interior layout. It gets a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a nine-speaker JBL audio system, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple Caraplay/Android Auto, HUD display, dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, dual-pane sunroof and much more.

Talking about the powertrain, the new Camry will continue to be powered by the same 2.5-litre, four-cylinder engine, hybrid petrol engine with a combined output of 218 PS of power and 221 nm torque. The engine comes paired with a PMSM electric motor paired with a Nickel-metal hydride battery. Transmission duties are taken care of by an eCVT gearbox. The 2025 Toyota Camry will offer an AWD version, but India will continue to receive only the FWD variant, a trend expected to remain unchanged. The current model delivers a mileage of 19 kmpl, and the new generation is anticipated to offer improved fuel efficiency.
